Colusa’s Coffee with a Cop to be held April 9

The Colusa City Police Department will host its second ‚ÄėCoffee with a Cop‚Äô event on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Sweet Bean‚Äôs Bakery, 304 5th Street, in Colusa starting at 9:00 am.

Colusa residents are invited to attend the informal gathering, in neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships with police officers, all while enjoying a cup of coffee.

‚ÄúThe Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity to converse with members of the community in a natural, non-threatening atmosphere and allowing them to communicate concerns,‚ÄĚ said Colusa Police Chief, Josh Fitch, ‚Äúcommunity members will also have an opportunity to meet their police officers, and to build trust within the community.‚ÄĚ

The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time.
