CCRFC Defeats Silicon Valley 61-7 to Earn #2 Seed

Colusa County Rugby Football Club (CCRFC) is headed to the Northern California Rugby Football Union Playoffs after a decisive win over Silicon Valley 61-7 at an NCRFU SuperSite in Reno, NV.
After the final week of the league play, NCRFU Division III has set the playoff seeding:
Reno (1) hosting Napa (4)
Colusa hosting (2) hosting South Valley (3)
Colusa will play host to South Valley on Saturday, April 18th @ 1:00PM at Egling Middle School in Colusa.
On Saturday, April 11th, CCRFC continued its hard pounding play against Silicon Valley, scoring 37 unanswered points. The second half was much the same, with CCRFC posting another four tries to post a 61-7 victory. CCRFC posted a total of eleven tries on the day by Cody Beckley, Ardy Farhangdoost, Matt Huffman, Sione Latu Kula, Juan Loza, Pono Ohumukini, Paul Santinelli and Dominic Santucci. Since suffering its only defeat to Napa on February 21st, CCRFC has won five straight matches and has outscored its opponents 324-59.
CCRFC went 9-1 in NCRFU league play and 11-1 when including friendly matches versus the Sacramento Blackhawks and Missoula Maggots.
“Our guys have been working hard on and off the pitch this season with two goals; win NCRFU Division III and get a bid to the USA Rugby National Championships,” said CCRFC President, Cody Beckley. “Our work and discipline has really taken center stage in the second half of the season with great wins versus conference leaders and tough opponents in NCRFU North Conference. We took the top spot in the North, but our sights are set on the next phase; winning the division.”
Colusa County Rugby Football Club (C.C.R.F.C., Inc.) has been in existence since 1973. We are educating the community on a great sport and encourage everyone to participate in a fun and rigorous athletic activity. CCRFC has a mission to get more people playing rugby and educate our community through outreach. We actively work with the Colusa community to develop a long lasting rugby tradition. These programs involve many people of all athletic talents, sizes, and shapes. In addition to strengthening our organization, we are actively putting programs in place to recruit youth to the sport of rugby.
