“There has been a number of occasions where there has been poor attendance of commission members,” said Williams City Mayor, John Troughton Jr., “I think this will solve the problem.”
Currently there are five Williams City Planning Commission members appointed by the mayor with approval of the council.
Williams community member, Dixie LaGrande asked the council if there has been any action that was prevented from being taken in the past due to the lack of a quorum.
Monica Stegall, Williams Assistant City Planner answered that there has been some actions prevented on occasion due to the lack of attendance of commission members.
Once formally approved the ordinance will add a sixth, alternate member who will act as a planning commissioner in the event a quorum is not met.
