Taking the wheel for a better life in Colusa County, participants of the 2015 CRMC Ride for Life event helped raise much-needed funds for the hospitals new mammography machine.
On Saturday, April 18, approximately 65 participants rode through the streets of Colusa on their mountain bikes, cruiser bikes, and tandem bicycles.
“This is a great event for a great cause,” said CRMC Foundation Member, Cindy Campbell.
The CRMC Foundation hosts the annual event to help fund the various needs of the hospital including new equipment and upgrades.
“We are fundraising for the new mammography machine that replaced our existing outdated one,” said Campbell.
To-date, the group has raised a total of $65,000 of its $200,000 goal.
“The community support has been wonderful, but we are far off from our goal,” said CRMC CEO, Walt Beck.
In an effort to help raise funds, the CRMC Foundation will be raffling four Giants tickets for the September 11, 2015 game against the Padres.
“They are great seats, nine rows back from home plate,” said CRMC Foundation president, David Zwald, “the winner will get VIP parking and VIP entrance.”
“You’ll be eye to eye with the pitcher,” said Zwald.
A limited number of tickets will be sold at $10 each and can be purchased from any CRMC Foundation Board Member or can be purchased in the lobby of the Colusa Regional Medical Center, 199 E. Webster St., Colusa.
Tickets are donated by a local group of Giants season ticket holders.
