Colusa Little League Field Burglarized

The Colusa Area Little League Field in Colusa was burglarized on the evening of Thursday, April 23, 2015 according to officials.

“At around 10:00 PM, two individuals got out of a vehicle and broke into the snack bar,” said Colusa Area Little League President, Kirt Stassi.

As the subjects entered the snack bar, they proceeded to cut telephone lines and destroy security cameras before making off with the organizations invaluable scoreboard controller, flags, and miscellaneous snacks.

The organization beefed up security measure with new locks and doors and installed a security camera system last year after they were burglarized – thieves at that time stole the entire snack bar stock.

“Has it gotten to the point where a little league field needs a security system?” commented Stassi.

Stassi added that the important item stolen was the scoreboard controller.

“It’s not valuable by itself,” said Stassi, “If it isn’t recovered or returned we could be forced to replace the entire scoreboard system costing the organization over $15,000.”

The organization was going to make contact with the scoreboard manufacturer to inquire about a replacement controller; however Stassi commented that it was highly unlikely that could happen.

“Whom ever in possession of our scoreboard controller, we ask them to please return it, and we won’t ask any questions,” said Stassi.

Until then, the organization is offering a reward for the information leading to the arrest of the subjects involved in the burglary. If you have any information about this incident, you are asked to contact the Colusa County Sheriff’s Department at (530) 458-0200 or message the Colusa Area Little League through their Facebook Page.
