With a goal of revisiting longtime traditions of the Colusa County Fair while giving it a fresh new feel, chief executive officer of the Fair Jonathan Howard has drawn on his childhood memories of growing up in Colusa.
“I remember the kiddie parade used to lead the main parade,” he said.
“This is so exciting for the youngsters and it gives parents and grandparents some great memory-making photo opts,” he said. – “With the help and support of First 5 and CAPC (Community Advocates for Parents and Children) we are bringing it back this year.”
The Kiddie Parade will begin at 5:30 pm on Friday, June 5 and will be the lead-in for the Fair Parade.
The 76th annual Colusa County Fair is all about holding on to the traditions of what made hometown country fairs great in the past, and what placed them at the center of the community events.
“It’s a time for our county to shine and to let people know just what a wonderful community we have here,” said Howard.<
