On Sunday, May 3, 2015, the Arbuckle Revitalization Committee (ARC) hosted another successful Spring Fiesta and Carnitas Cook-off.
Crowds arrived to taste the best-of-the-best as 12 local teams cooked up carnitas and spiced up their favorite salsa.
The top three teams were:
1st Place – Arbuckle Service Center
2nd Place – David Corona
3rd Place – Alsco/Geyer Ace Hardware
The top team for best salsa was California Family Foods
The teams got into the festive mood, decorating their booths with brightly colored fiesta decorations and some even dressing in costume; however, the award for best decorations went to Alsco/Geyer Ace Hardware.
“We would like to thank everyone for their participation, attendance, sponsorship and help,” said ARC President, Debbie Charter.
In addition to a delicious carnitas meal, attendees feasted on home baked goods provided by local community members and sipped a cold beer or margaritas. Morning Star Packing also had a booth demonstrating the products produced in Colusa County.
The Arbuckle Parks and Recreations Commission hosted a kids area with bounce houses, toss games, and other fun activities.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the upcoming Arbuckle Depot Birthday BBQ Bash and Car Show on Sunday, October 25, 2015.<
