Splash Dogs, a dock jumping canine competition is new to the Colusa County Fair June 4-7.
The interactive event shows off some of the Splash Dog’s stars, but it also gives local pet owners an opportunity to have their dogs compete.
“This is something to see,” said Colusa County Fair CEO Jonathan Howard.
The attraction is held in a 20 ft by 40 ft splash pool with a 40 ft Astroturf surface. Pets in the competition will be provided with training before participating, and the dogs will have an opportunity to acclimate to the dock area prior to their first official competition jump.
There are a few rules to follow and can be found on Splash Dog’s website www.splashdogs.com. Entry information is there as well.
“We are excited that we were able to have this attraction at this year’s Fair,” said Howard. “We’ve got a lot of new things going on at the fair, Splash Dogs being one of them.”
Splash Dogs will be located in the area between Main Exhibit and the Community Center
Howard said, “there are a lot of events going on in that area of the fairgrounds this year, so it is an area fairgoers want to visit. If you think your dog would enjoy this event, we’d love for you to bring them to the fair,”
