Colusa AARP Driver Safety Class
On Friday, September 18, 2015, the City of Colusa will kick off one of its two AARP Drivers Safety Classes to those aged 50 years or older. The class will help keep driving skills sharp while reducing insurances rates. The class hosted on Friday, September 18, 2015, will be held for anyone who has not completed the eight-hour course within the past four years; on Friday, September 25, will be hosted for those wishing to renew their class certificate. Each class begins at 8:30 AM at the City of Colusa Conference Room, 425 Webster Street, in Colusa. The cost is $20 for AARP Members and $25 for Non-Members. CRMC Golf Event
The Colusa Regional Medical Center will hold its 24th annual Swing for Life Golf Tournament on Friday, September 18, 2015, at the Colusa Golf and Country Club. Registration and practice for the foursome scramble format start at 10:00 AM, with an 11:00 AM shotgun start. A reception and awards ceremony will be held at 5:30 PM. Colusa Beta Sigma Pi Multi Family Rummage Sale
The Colusa Torchbearer Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will hold their annual multifamily rummage sale on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the Senior Center at 901 Parkhill Street, Colusa. Library Celebrates 100 Years
On Friday, September 25th, The Colusa County Library will be celebrating their 100th Anniversary from 2 PM – 4 PM at the Courthouse Lawn adjacent to the Gazabo. Dignitaries, such as the California State Librarian will be in attendance, as well as past Colusa County Librarians, etc.
Williams Fall Color Run
On Saturday, September 26, 2015, the second annual Fall Williams High School Color Run will kick-off at 9:00 AM. The one-mile course is on campus and begins at 222 11th Street in Williams. Registration fee is $10, and forms can be found at the Williams High School office or from Ms. Pryde or Ms. Gobel. Students will earn ten extra P.E. points. Participants are advised to wear old clothing as four different colors will be sprayed on participants. All proceeds will support the Williams 7th Grade Clas. By-Gone Era on Display at Stonyford Museum
Stonyford Museum will be featuring “By-Gone Era” matchbooks, ashtrays and lighters on Sunday, September 27, 2015; in addition to Sundays, October 11th, and 25th. This interesting display has items from Italy, Germany, Mexico, as well as from Nevada and California. Museum hours are 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Museum is still looking for any information and photos about Stonyford Odd Fellows Lodge #456. It was closed in the 1960’s or early 1970’s.
Arbuckle Parks and Recreation Seeking Board Members
The Arbuckle Parks and Recreation District is seeking two community members to fill available positions. One four-year and one two-year term are available. APRD Board members must attend monthly meetings and volunteer in activities. Board members rotate positions and obtain additional appointments to committees. Girl Scout Build a Troop Meeting
On October 1, 2015, at 6:00 PM at the Colusa Scout Cabin, a meeting will be held for all girls in the Colusa area, kindergarten through 12th grade and their caregivers, to find out how you can become Girl Scouts together! A new troop is being added to the Colusa area, and volunteers and members are needed! Volunteers are needed to lead new troops and share in the fun! Museum Murder Mystery Show and Dinner
Western attire is encouraged as the Sacramento Valley Museum hosts its annual Murder Mystery Show & Dinner on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at the SVM Auditorium. Bowling for Boobs (Date Change)
On Saturday, October 24, 2015, the Colusa County Breast Cancer Fund will host its annual Bowling 4 Boobs Fundraiser. This year’s theme is “Boobs, Bowling, and Boogie Time”. The cost is $25 per person or $100 per team. Sponsors are welcomed, and costumes and creative team names are encouraged. Prizes will be awarded for best costume, team name and much more. Have fun at the photo booth and bowling with friends supporting a great cause. The event will be held at Riverside Lanes in Colusa, starting at 4:00 PM. Williams Youth Basketball Signups
The Williams Parks and Recreation Department will host youth basketball sign-ups for ages K-3 on September 8 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Williams City Hall. The cost is $35 per child. Parents may also sign up their children during Williams City Hall business hours.
Colusa Adult Canteen
The Colusa Ault Canteen is a bi-monthly luncheon held every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month, from NOON to 1:30 PM. The Adult Canteen is open to all Seniors, 60 years of age or older and held at the United Methodist Church’s, Friendship Hall, 511 Oak Street, in Colusa. Enjoy an event just for the seniors in our community – promoting an active lifestyle and an opportunity to socialize with friends and discuss topics over a Pot Luck style lunch with the main course being provided.
