Arbuckle Car Show Gears up for the Weekend

The Arbuckle Revitalization Committee’s Thirteenth Annual Car Show and Depot Birthday BBQ is expected to draw hundreds of classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars, motorcycles, and more on Sunday, October 25 in Downtown Arbuckle.

The event, which you will see upwards between 240 and 300 entrants this year, is organized annually to benefit the local downtown beautification group who has handled hosting the summer farmer markets, the development of the downtown parks, and gateway signs into the community. The group has its goal set on restoring and repurposing the aging historic train depot that was built in 1876.

Car Show registration is held between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, day of show registration is $25. For more information on registration, contact Debbie Charter at (530) 518-5955 or Peggy Arens at (530) 476-2523. Goody bags and dash plaques will be available to the first 300 entrants.

Starting at 10:00 AM the annual raffle will open – boosting some great prizes, and a tri-tip lunch will be served to start at 11:00 AM.

Craft, gift, and information booths will also be available for those looking to get a head start on their holiday shopping. Attendees will also enjoy a variety of classic music throughout the day.

The Arbuckle Parks and Recreation District will host its annual ‘Almond Fun Run’ earlier in the morning with registration starting at 7:00 AM. The 1-mile race will begin at 8:00 AM, the 10K will begin at 8:30 AM and the 5K will begin at 8:45 AM. Day of race registration fee is $25; a PJUSD Student Discount is available. For more information, contact the APRD at (530) 476-3007.

Additionally, the Arbuckle Parks and Recreation District will host its annual Halloween Costume Parade during the Car Show. At 10:30 AM, participants are to meet in front of ACE Hardware in Arbuckle for Registration/Line-up. The Parade starts at 11:00 AM.

You’re sure to have a great time at the Arbuckle Car Show and Train Depot BBQ so come on out; this event is held rain or shine!
