Christmas Tyme in Colusa This Weekend

[slideshow_deploy id=’74329′]

On Monday evening, the Christmas Tyme in Colusa Committee began preparations for the weekend event by placing two decorated Christmas trees near the entry of the Historic Colusa County Courthouse.

“Since the elm trees have been removed, the Courthouse has become our town focal point,” said Christmas Tyme Committee Member, John Smart, “and we needed to do something special.”

Two 12’ trees were placed on the sides of the sidewalk leading up to the courthouse entrance. The trees were donated by Baker’s Christmas Tree Lot in Yuba City; additionally, the Colusa Rotary donated $200 towards the purchase of ornaments for the trees.

“I can not appreciate enough the support that Baker’s Christmas Tree Stand and the Colusa Rotary did to help with this project,” Smart commented.

Downtown Colusa will soon be filled with Christmas cheer for the annual Christmas Tyme in Colusa event to be held On Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

This year’s event is to include street vendors that will offer food, crafts, and goodies.

The Community Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Colusa County Courthouse will kick-off with a caroling by the local Girl Scouts as the tree is lit promptly at 5:30 PM.

Santa Claus will be back once again, but this year he will be located by the Community Christmas Tree at the Historical Colusa County Courthouse.
