After graduation from high school in Los Banos, Stan joined the Navy where he was trained as an electrician. After his service in the Navy he worked at various companies until finally working in the tomato packing businesses.
He worked for Ingomar and then Morning Star Packing Company for 20 years. He and his family moved to Colusa in 1995 when the Morning Star plant was built in Williams.
In 2004 he opened his own electrical business, Stan’s Electric, in Colusa, California where he enjoyed meeting and serving his clients. Stan loved solving problems and many of his clients became friends.
When not at work, Stan loved taking care of and improving the family home, washing the cars, and playing with his dogs. He rebuilt a1971 Mach 1 Mustang and restored it. Stan was also an excellent woodworker and built many of the pieces of furniture. He liked to be active and working and was well known for his work ethic.
He is survived by his wife Karla, his daughter Krystal Santiago, her husband Chris, grandson Marcus (one more grandson is on the way in May), both of his parents Ed and Faye Shaeffer, his sister Laura Posey and niece Amanda Coleman. He was dearly loved by his family and will be remembered for his strength, honesty, and hard work.
