Joann May Gryder (1931-2015)

OBIT - Joann May GryderJoann May Gryder, a devoted wife and loving mother was called to join our heavenly father on April 2, 2015 at the Marysville Care and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 83. She was born on July 23, 1931 in Salem, Oregon to her parents John W. Burgess and Brueatta Burgess Lehmkuhl. Along with her family, she relocated to the small town of Princeton, CA. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1950. After graduating from high school, she enlisted in the United States Army, where she met her husband of 63 years. After getting married in 1951, Omar and Joann moved to Colusa, CA where they resided for 62 years.

Joann loved being a homemaker, raising her three children, cooking, sewing, and planting flowers in her backyard.

She was involved with numerous organizations through out the years, some of which were the United Methodist Women, VFW Auxiliary, California Women’s Bowling Association, and the Boy and Girl Scouts of America organizations through her children. Joann was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Colusa, CA.
