Steve Corkill, 57, of Stonyford, California, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2015 with loved ones near.
Born in Lakeport, California on September 1, 1957, to Oscar and Billie Corkill.
In 1968, Steve’s family settled in the Stonyford area on what is still referred to as The Corkill Ranch, just north of town.
Steve attended Indian Valley Elementary School in Stonyford and then Elk Creek High School receiving his diploma in 1976.
Steve was a heavy equipment operator, laborer, and Supervisor; he operated equipment for the US Forest Service, Whitney Construction, Wycoff Construction, Grindstone Indian Rancheria, and Baker Trucking.
At the age of, 13, Steve met the love of his life, Diana, who was just 12. Diana even told her mom, “I met the man I am going to marry”.
Steve and Diana married in 1981. In 1985, the couple was blessed with their beautiful daughter Rachel.
Steve would say “Rachel is the second best thing I have ever done, the first was when I married Diana.
Steve leaves behind many family members and friends that will miss him greatly.
A Celebration of Life was held on May 30, 2015 at the Stonyford Community Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ‘Save the Glenn County Shelter Dogs; at 6545 Co Rd 48, Willows, CA 95988 or to an animal shelter of your choosing. Steve loved animals.Υ
