The youngest of 12 children, Naomi was born on January 22, 1922, to Juan and Bicenta Guerro, who immigrated to the United States from Mexico.
As an active member of the Williams Community, Naomi served on the Williams City Council and was instrumental in starting the first Williams Pioneer Day. She was also an active member of the Maxwell American Legion Auxillary. Naomi was also a faithful supporter of the Williams Community Center Bingo Nights.
Naomi is remembered for her affable character and during her younger days she worked as a cosmetics salesperson. Her drive and likeable nature earned the salesperson of the year award earning an opportunity to dine with Clint Eastwood. Later, Naomi worked at Worsley’s and Bargain Circus in both Williams and Colusa.
In the 1970’s, Naomi became a Born Again Christian and faithfully attended church every Sunday. It was noted to have been a changing point in her life.
A woman from a large family, Naomi loved hosting family gatherings at her home where family members would celebrate together.
Naomi is preceded in death by her siblings and three children; Robert Trull, Debra Trull and Larry Hampshire; and most recently by her niece, a dear friend and confidante, Gloria Baggett.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Wayne Hampshire; her children, Jacqueline Trull, Eugene Bigelow, Elaine Rios, Donna Hampshire and Vernon Hampshire. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Valerie, Florence, Barbara, Bobbie, Sierra, Brittney, Angie, Ryan, Jaime, John and Misty, as well as many great-grandchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Naomi’s Family would like to extend sincere gratitude to Judy Diaz and Norma Prado for all their help in caring for Naomi during her final days. Additionally, the family would like to convey sincere appreciation to Dennis Baggett, who has ensured that Naomi and her husband had a home where they could live out the remainder of their lives.
A memorial service for Naomi will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 11:30 AM at the Williams Community Church (9th and C Street) in Williams, California. A Celebration of Life will follow.
