Betty was born on May 11, 1917 in Twin Falls, ID. She moved with her family to Willows, Ca in the mid 1920’s where she graduated from Willows High School in 1934.
Following high school Betty began working for Wells Fargo in San Francisco where she met her future husband W. Bruce Wylie. On August 28, 1942 Betty and Bruce were married. After starting their family, they moved to Colusa with their two children in 1951 where they began rice farming.
Betty had a love and passion for golf. She and her husband Bruce were founding members of Spy Glass Hill Golf Club (Pebble Beach), Peach Tree Golf and Country Club, and Colusa Golf and Country Club. Betty’s excellence at golf resulted in numerous ladies championships at multiple clubs.
Betty herself was involved in numerous groups and organizations including but not limited to: Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America (Den Mother), Colusa Golf and Country Club, Omega Nu, Town and Country Club (SF), Peach Tree Golf and Country Club, The Republican Party, and the Bridge Club.
Always a lady, Betty handled herself with grace and elegance. She inspired those around her to strive to be their best. Her sense of humor and twinkle in her eye will be fondly remembered.

Wylie and wife Karen, her daughter, Jeanne Haskell and husband Riley “Punch”, her grandchildren, Bruce Montgomery (Heather), Christine Nicole Wylie (and mother Anne Wylie), and Jenni Hoffman (Karl) and great-grandchildren Matthew, Jordan, Colt, Logan, and Alaric.
