Candidates begin vying for Colusa County Offices

The Colusa County Clerk Recorder’s office have issued Petitions for Signatures In-Lieu of Filing Fees to individuals who intend to participate in the June 7, 2016, Primary Election ballot for Colusa County office.

For a candidate to run for office, they must pay a fee when filing nomination papers. The fee is calculated on the annual salary in effect for the office to circulate petitions to gather signatures-in-lieu of filing fees.

The District 2 Supervisor candidate would have to pay a fee of $624 or obtain 328 signatures-in-lieu of filing fee; District 3 Supervisor candidate would have to pay a fee of $624 or obtain 242 signatures-in-lieu of filing fee; District 4 Supervisor candidate would have to pay fee of $624 or obtain 257 signatures-in-lieu of filing fee; and the Superior Court Judge candidate would have to pay a fee of $1,890 or obtain 749 signatures-in-lieu of filing fee.

In addition to a filing fee, Judicial candidates must also file a Declaration of Intention between Feb. 1 and Feb. 10, 2016 (as of Monday Jan. 4).

â–  Supervisor – District #2: John D. Loudon (Appointed Incumbent)
â–  Supervisor – District #3: Mark D. Marshall (Incumbent), Kent Boes, and Angela Plachek-Fulcher
â–  Supervisor – District #4: Gary J. Evans (Incumbent)
â–  Superior Court Judge: Jeffrey A. Thompson
