The Colusa County Fair Foundation held its second annual ‘Red and White Bash’ on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.

The Valentine’s themed event has boasted the energy and supportive spirit of the Fair Foundations, which helps raises necessary funds for necessary maintenance and improvements to the Colusa County Fairgrounds.

“It was so much fun,” said Fair Foundation board member, Shiela Etchepare, “We are so grateful to the community who came out and supported the event.”

It was approximated that over 300 people attended the event that includes a delicious catered meal by Rocco’s Bar & Grill, a live band and dancing, as well as prizes.

Assemblymember, James Gallagher and his wife Janna also made an appearance.

This year the event featured a California Road Trip Raffle where winners selected from a California Wine Country Trip, a trip to a California Beach, or to a California Ski Resort or Relax at a California Golf Course.

“Congratulations to Jarrett Ottenwalter, Punch and Jeanie Haskell, Lori and Lyle Charter, and Jean Etchepare, who were the winners of the raffle,” said Etchepare.

Etchepare commented that the event was hosted in Festival Hall and was a wild success; however, featuring such a magnificent event in the building opened the opportunity for improvements.

“We’ve all been in Festival Hall and many commented on the improvements that need to be made, like better restrooms, air flow, and more,” said Etchepare, “the Fair Foundation can help to make those necessary improvements through fundraising events such as this.”

The Fair Foundation also hosts several fundraising events throughout the year including a Golf Tournament.

“I always say that we have 55 acres of star spangled acres, and it should be a showcase for our county events and not just for the fair,” said Etchepare, “our raffle features the four seasons, and that is what we want to feature – the opportunity for year round activities at our fairgrounds.”

The Colusa County Fairgrounds includes: Ben Carter, Patti Hickel, Shiela Etchepare, Sandy Ottenwalter, Sally La Grande, Mike Doherty, Emmet Pennebaker, Dan Bailey, Dave Nelson, Terry Bressler, and Dan O’Connell
