Crab Feed Promises Something for Everyone

Students, staff and parent volunteers are preparing for the 8th Annual Our Lady of Lourdes Crab Feed, being held on Friday, March 4, 2016, at St. Bernadette’s Hall at 745 Ware Avenue in Colusa from 5:30-8 PM.

The sale of dinner tickets, raffle and a live auction raises funds for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Colusa.

Held during the season of Lent, a forty-day period when many Catholics commit to not eating meat on Fridays, the menu features a choice of Dungeness Crab or homemade cheese enchiladas. Both served with salad, beans, bread and dessert. Beer and wine will also be available for the adults.

Diners may purchase raffle tickets for their chance to win various raffle items that co-chairs, John Ascension and Chad Woodring, have been busy collecting from Colusa County businesses and community members.

The live auction is conducted by Tim Gomes, of Colusa. The live auction and traditionally raises a significant portion of the event’s proceeds.

“Local women who support the school, traditionally bake and donate special desserts for the auction,” said Ascension.

Tickets are $45 per adult and $20 for children ten years and under and may be purchased from the OLL school office or by contacting a school parent.
