Community Center Continues Kids Art Night

It was a lucky night for some crafty children at the Williams Community Center’s Kid’s Art Night on Thursday, March 3, 2016.

“Tonight we celebrated a little bit of St. Patrick’s Day and Easter and once again, parents and children alike left with big smiles and creative art pieces,” said Kid’s Art Night coordinator, Melissa Baikie-Rick.

The Williams Community Center hosts the FREE Kid’s Art Night on the first Thursday of the month.

“We plan on hosting these events during the school season, and we will focus on other activities during the summer months,” said Baikie-Ricke.

Kids crafted various holiday themed items for both holidays. Some made playful masks, and others made gifts for family and friends.

“Bringing families together for an easy-going and safe evening where kids can be creative makes for a total success,” Baikie-Rick commented.

As to future events, Baikie-Rick replied, “I’m thinking about organizing an Adult Art Night. WCC is putting on events for the youngsters and the senior citizens, now it could be time to do something for the adults of our community.”

Baikie-Rick is currently researching the activities other community centers offer, and discussing opportunities that I’ll get more people involved in both volunteering and participation.

Anyone interested in volunteering, or participating in events hosted by the Williams Community Center should contact Melissa Baikie-Rick at (530) 405-6150.

Baikie-Rick commented that the Kid’s Art Night was always seeking donations of craft supplies for future events.

The next Kid’s Art Night will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM and will celebrate National Zoo Lover’s Day!

The Williams Community Center can be found online at or can be found on Facebook.
