Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute at Colusa County Fair

MJ at Colusa County FairgroundsIt has been more years than most people can remember since there has been a high impact concert on the grandstand stage at the Colusa County Fair. That’s about to change.  This year’s Saturday night line-up is going to be huge according to Jonathan Howard, CEO of the Fair.

“Who’s Bad,” known as the Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band has agreed to come to Colusa.

“This is a complete stage review tribute to the King of Pop,” said Howard. “It’s not a cover band; it’s a production and a tribute to Michael Jackson’s life and his music,” he said.

The group is the longest running Michael Jackson tribute band, and the only one to pre-date Jackson’s untimely death. They have wowed audiences worldwide and have performed “jaw-dropping” performances, even to skeptics according to their promotion material.

They have played sold-out shows in some of the world’s most famous pavilions, including arenas in China, House of Blues franchises across the United States, and London’s 02 – the venue where the King of Pop himself was scheduled to end his “This Is It” concert tour.

Lead in the band; Joseph Bell (aka “JoBel”), is known for sounding like the King of Pop and his moves are spot on. Lead choreographer of Michael Jackson’s “This is It”, Travis Payne has worked with Bell to hone the moves.

Bell began his career as a singer and dancer at Walt Disney World. He has appeared in the television movies “The Jacksons”, and “An American Dream” and was also on Ed McMahon’s Star Search.  He also appeared in the film “What’s Love Got to Do With It”, and sang on live television for Baby Face and Toni Braxton.

“This is going to be huge for us at the fair,” said Howard.

They are expanding the seating to include not only floor seating near the stage, but are adding 18 VIP boxes near the stage as well.  The boxes can accommodate up to eight guests and come with full wait service.

“We are so excited to have an act of this caliber coming to the Colusa County Fair,” said Howard.

Reserved seating and general ticket information is available online at www.colusacountyfair.com.

This is the first venture in a long time to provide this stature of entertainment in the fair’s grandstands.

Howard said support of this concert will ensure that other big name concerts can continue to attend the Colusa County Fair.

“This is our chance to build toward the future,” he said.

The Colusa County Fair will take place June 9-12, 2016. “Who’s Bad” will perform on Saturday, June 11.  For more information call the fair office at (530) 458-2641 or visit www.colusacountyfair.com
