Presbyterian Church Continues Twilight Years Workshops

The Colusa Presbyterian Church is hosting a series of 3 workshops to help all interested persons with issues of aging and moving into the “twilight years” of one’s life.  The second workshop (on Thursday, March 17, from 1-4 p.m. in the church’s Fellowship Hall) will focus on: “Look Toward the End of Life.”

Kathy Hughes, a nurse at Colusa Regional Medical Center, will discuss medical directives concerning end-of-life decisions.  Erin Steidlemayer, of Steidlemayer Law Attorneys, will provide understanding of wills and trusts.  Don Parsons, of Veteran Affairs, will talk about military benefits.  Nick Wessel of the Disability Action Center, will provide tips for maintaining vision health as well as letting us know about helps that are available to those who are facing vision problems (as Mr. Wessel was unable to make this presentation at the first workshop).  And Pastor Tom Tripp will speak briefly on the matter of spiritual hope and assurance in facing the end of earthly life and looking ahead to heaven.

Following each presentation there will be opportunity to ask questions, and others will be present to let you know what kinds of services are available to seniors (or to those who care for seniors).

The final workshop (on March 31) will deal with “Facing Death and the Loss of a Loved One.”

These workshops are open to all persons at no cost, with refreshments provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.  The church is located at the corner of 4th & Jay Streets in Colusa.  For more information, call 458-2802.
