Ever wonder where the idea for your favorite movies came from? This summer, the Colusa County Free Library will host a FREE Book to Movie Club for incoming Junior High and High School students.
Incoming 6th – 8th graders will meet at the Colusa branch on Wednesdays from 11AM – 12PM from June 15th – August 3rd, and incoming high school students on Thursdays 1PM – 2PM from June 16th – August 4th.
“Over the course of 8 weeks, participants will read three books and watch the movie adaptations to compare and contrast versions,” said Alissa Morrow, Literacy Coordinator.
The three books selected for the junior high club are: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. The books chosen for the high school club are: The Outsiders, The Book Thief, and Divergent.
“Participants will get to keep their copies of the books upon completion of the program,” said Morrow.
Morrow commented that space is limited and pre-registration is requested; the last day to register is Friday, June 3, 2016.
