CalTrans to Reconstruct Bridge Street in Colusa, Community Meeting Held

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) hosted a community open house on Wednesday, June 1 to discuss plans to reconstruct and improve a section of State Highway 20 in Colusa.

During the meeting, community members viewed displays detailing the proposed highway improvement project and Caltrans staff members were available to answer questions and received comments from the public.

The $13.5 million roadway rehabilitation and complete streets project calls for major improvements on a one-mile section Highway 20 between Market Street and Butte Vista Way. Work includes replacing the old pavement, reconstructing the roadway to accommodate 12-foot-wide lanes and two 10-foot wide shoulders, building American with Disabilities Act compliant sideswalks, upgrading drainage facilities and the traffic signal at Sioc Street and establishing new left turn lanes. Construction is anticipated to start in spring 2018.

The environmental document, referred to as the Initial Study/Proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration, is available for review until June 22, 2016 at the following locations:
