CalTrans to Reconstruct Bridge Street in Colusa, Community Meeting Held

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) hosted a community open house on Wednesday, June 1 to discuss plans to reconstruct and improve a section of State Highway 20 in Colusa.

During the meeting, community members viewed displays detailing the proposed highway improvement project and Caltrans staff members were available to answer questions and received comments from the public.

The $13.5 million roadway rehabilitation and complete streets project calls for major improvements on a one-mile section Highway 20 between Market Street and Butte Vista Way. Work includes replacing the old pavement, reconstructing the roadway to accommodate 12-foot-wide lanes and two 10-foot wide shoulders, building American with Disabilities Act compliant sideswalks, upgrading drainage facilities and the traffic signal at Sioc Street and establishing new left turn lanes. Construction is anticipated to start in spring 2018.

The environmental document, referred to as the Initial Study/Proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration, is available for review until June 22, 2016 at the following locations:

This document is also available for review on weekdays between 8 AM and 4 PM at the Caltrans District 3 Office at 703 B Street in Marysville, CA 95901.

CalTrans is accepting comments on this project with written communications to be received via postal mail to, California Department of Transportation, Environmental Management M2 Branch, Attn: Dotrik Wilson, 703 B Street, Marysville, CA 94901. Comments may also be submitted via email to dotrik.wilson@dot.ca.gov

All comments must be received by June 22, 2016.
