For many, the most important part of their day is coffee; now, there is a new spot along Market Street to grab your favorite morning brew on the go, or sip it inside while you work or visit with friends.

“We wanted a place where everyone gathers, to meet clients, chat with their friends, or do their homework,” said Carolee Ornbaun, proprietor of the new establishment, ‘Caffeinated.’

Having opened at 538 Market Street in Colusa earlier this month, Caffeinated has been well received by the community and travelers, Ornbaun commented.

“We wanted to bring more to Colusa,” said Ornbaun, “We want to give people a reason to stay in Colusa and to shop in Colusa.”

The rural chic café serves up coffee — both hot and cold, as well as loose leaf tea, homemade pastries, sandwiches, and much more.

“We are adding a new lunch menu each week,” said Ornbaun.

In addition to all the deliciousness, Caffeinated is serving a unique brew.

“We have cold brew on tap, nitro cold-brew coffee, and nitro floats,” Ornbaun said enthusiastically.

Ornbaun explained nitro cold-brew is served just like you would beer, from a tap – from a keg.

“The tap injects nitrous oxide giving the coffee a smoother, creamier feel, just like beer,” said Ornbaun.

“But you’ll have to try our nitro floats served with vanilla ice cream, I could eat it all day,” she added.

As the business gets going in the community, Caffeinated will be adding menu items, as well as seeking input from its customers.

“We want to know what our customers think –the good and the bad,” said Ornbaun, “We want to make this a place where people are comfortable and enjoy the atmosphere.”

It is an atmosphere that Ornbaun has gone to lengths to provide, complete with comfy lounge chairs to the outside seating — both in front of the shop and on the back patio.

“We have a great back patio with a convenient back entrance,” said Ornbaun, “we welcome our customers to order their treats, and to stay awhile and enjoy our community.”

Caffeinated even offers free WiFi for its customers.

For its business customers, Caffeinated offers ‘Joe to Go’ boxes for those early morning meetings or the late afternoon pick-me-ups. They even offer many of their homemade delights for your business meeting needs.

Since its opening, Ornbaun commented that customers have been stumbling upon caffeinated and liking what they find inside.

“We get a wide range of locals customers and people traveling through town,” she said.

So far, Ornbaun said, they’ve kept the opening quiet as they work to adjust the needs of the new business.

“We wanted to be ready and fully operational when we announce our grand opening,” said Ornbaun.

Presently, the hours of the shop are 5 AM to 6 PM, daily. Give them a call at (530) 458-2253.
