Raising A Reader Program Returns

Raising A Reader is back at the library!  The free, 10-week early literacy program promotes parent-child bonding through reading.  Parents and their children, age’s birth through five, establish a reading routine that has been proven to foster healthy brain development, healthy relationships, a love of reading, and the literacy skills critical for school success.

Weekly story time and interactive activities at the library along with a weekly Book Bag make reading fun for the whole family.  The Colusa County Free Library will be hosting the program in collaboration with First 5 Colusa.

This fall season the RAR program will be implemented from August 22 to November 7.  The weekly schedule is as follows: Mondays at the Grimes Branch Library from 9:15 AM – 9:45 AM; the Arbuckle Branch Library from 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM; and at the Williams Branch Library from 11:45 PM – 12:15 PM.

Tuesdays at the Colusa Branch Library from 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM; and at the Maxwell Branch Library from 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM.

Space is limited; please register by picking up an application at your local branch library or call (530) 458-0373.■
