Colusa discovers alcohol ink art

photo-alcohol-art-inkWhile purchasing art supplies, Colusa County Arts Council member Sheryl Goodman discovered a new media: alcohol ink.

“It’s pretty amazing and a lot of fun,” said Goodman.

Alcohol ink can be used on a variety of non-porous materials such as ceramic tile, glass, as well as yupo paper.

Goodman, who will be teaching a class on the technique, said that they will be using three different materials during her instruction.

The Alcohol Ink Class will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, starting at 5:00 PM at the Colusa County Arts Council workroom, 430 Market St., Suite E, in Colusa.

“The cost is $30 for CCAC members, and $30 for non-members,” said Goodman. The fee includes the cost of instruction and supplies.

“Spaces are filling up fast, so reserve your seat today,” she said.

For information or to register, visit the gallery at 430 Market St. or call (530) 458-2222.
