Arbuckle Pumpkin Festival

Rain didn’t dampen spirits at the Arbuckle Pumpkin Festival held Sunday, hosted by the Arbuckle Revitalization Committee (ARC).
Dozens of families were in search of the great pumpkin, while some browsed various vendors and enjoyed a delicious lunch.
“We were worried with the rain in the morning, but it didn’t stop anyone from coming out and supporting us,” said ARC Member Jacqueline Gonzalez.
Gonzalez commented that pumpkins were sold out by the end of the day.
Little Duncan Frank, the son of Joan and Ron Frank of Grimes, had a great time playing in the pumpkins.
“This was Duncan’s second year at the Pumpkin Festival,” said Joan Frank. “He loved being able to run around and look and touch all the different pumpkins.”
Frank commented that the weather was perfect for the fall event.
“All around, I love having a local pumpkin festival so we don’t have to go to a pumpkin patch and pick out pumpkins,” she said.
The day included various vendors including honey, olive oil, fresh vegetables, farm fresh eggs, handmade goods, and much more. Sweet Bean’s Bakery from Colusa provided a tri-tip sandwich lunch, and hot dogs.
“The day started out slow, but it picked up and stayed busy,” said Debbie Charter, a vendor selling olive oil. “I know Lohman’s honey, Starnater’s vegetables, and our olive oil sold great.”
“This year’s pumpkin festival turned out to be a great success!” said Gonzalez.
Save the date: The Arbuckle Revitalization Committee will host its annual Car Show & Depot Birthday Barbecue on Sunday, Oct. 30, in Downtown Arbuckle. ■
