Local businesses competed in a Scarecrow Contest held in conjunction with the Colusa County Pumpkin Village in Colusa.
Co-hosted by the Colusa County Chamber of Commerce and the Williams Pioneer Review, local celebrity judges County Supervisor John Loudon and County C.A.O. Wendy Tyler had the daunting task of selecting the Chamber Choice award. Meanwhile, the scarecrows were featured at the Colusa County Pumpkin Village Saturday for People’s Choice.
The Friends Around the Block Quilt Shop was awarded the Chamber Choice Award for its quilted, laid back scarecrow; and the Colusa County Animal Control was awarded the People’s Choice Award for its vicious rice dog scarecrow.
Participants included the Colusa County Library, Kittle’s Outdoor Sport Co., Steelhead Lodge, Rush Personnel Service, Colusa County One Stop, Superior Tires, Davison Drugs, Beduhn Tax Service, Rocco’s Bar & Grille, Royal Cuts Barbershop, Caffeinated, Davies Chevron in Colusa, All Star Realty, Changes Salon, Riverside Lanes, and Richies Florist.
The Friends Around the Block Quilt Shop will receive an advertising opportunity with the Williams Pioneer Review, and the Colusa County Animal Control will receive a scarecrow trophy. ■
