Art Attack: the Legends and Heroes of Hal Tacker; Art Show this Saturday

Honoring his heroes, the legends, and the racers, Hal Tacker will be hosting an Art Show and Sale at Granzella’s Banquet Hall, Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 AM to 6 PM.

“I will have many people from my past attending,” said Tacker during an artist reception held in his name at the Tap Room at ColUSA made held in Colusa, Sunday.

Tacker commented that on Friday he will host a meet and greet dinner, prior to the Art Show and Sale.

“The dinner Friday night is sold out,” said Tacker. However, Tacker welcomes everyone to attend the Art Show and Sale held Saturday.

“Being the son of a crop duster and living on an airport the first few years of my life, airplanes is what I saw,” said Tacker.

In the beginning, Tacker gained recognition for his aviation paintings and one of his most notable pieces is a tribute to Pappy Boyington, “Catching a Wave.”

“That painting really got me started,” said Tacker.

Throughout his career as an artist, Tacker has created more than 6,000 works of art.

“I have used all kinds of medium,” Tacker commented. “My first sketches were pen and water colors, and I started to get really particular and every piece had to be perfect in detail. However, I am back to pen and water colors and letting the art speak for itself.”

Having mastered the medium, Tacker moved his focus from subject to subject.

“I’ve painted and drawn people, motorcycles, cars, landscapes, tractors, it’s endless,” he said.

For Tacker, this isn’t the first art show.

“I have had over 1,000 one-man shows,” he said.

Tacker has been featured at the Blue Wing Gallery in Woodland and in Carmel, CA, Las Vegas, NV, and Scottsdale, AZ, to name a few.

“It’s going to be an exciting evening seeing a lot of my old friends, and legends from my life,” said Tacker.

Tacker’s Art Show and Sale will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 AM to 6 PM at the Granzella’s Banquet Hall, 457 7th St. in Williams.
