Raymond Gammons (1941-2016)

Raymond Gammons, 74, passed away February 19, 2016, in Victorville, California. He died with his family by his side.

Born on April 7, 1941, in Arbuckle, California, Raymond was the son of Ray and Frances Gammons.

He was a loving Christian man. Raymond graduated from the Pierce School District and joined the U.S.

Army where he served in Germany. He later owned and operated a hair salon in Arbuckle and worked for the Pierce Joint Unified School District. Raymond and his wife, Cathy, moved to Las Vegas and then Apple Valley where he worked for J.C. Penny’s until his retirement.

Raymond is survived by his wife Cathy of 48 years; his son Chad of Fall River, California and daughter Anna (Bruce) Schertell, of Victorville, California. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Samantha and Chad Jr. Gammons. Kendra, Riley, and Sophia Schertell and one great-grandson Kaeden; and his sister Kay (Bud) Abele of Arbuckle.

A memorial service for Raymond will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the Life Point Baptist Church, in Apple Valley.
