Mary Helen Barrett (1928-2016)

Mary Helen Barrett, 87, of Princeton passed away at her home February 24th after a courageous and challenging battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Mary was born in Princeton on October 25, 1928, to Mary and Jacquin Perry. Mary graduated from Princeton High School and married her high school sweetheart Manuel Barrett. She worked several years for Colusa First Savings in Colusa and the Colusa County Library in Princeton.

Mary enjoyed gardening, horseback riding and spending time with family and friends. Mary was an excellent cook, and everyone enjoyed her meals and goodies. Mary loved to travel, especially to the ocean side.

Mary was a loving mother, sister, friend and leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Manuel. She is also survived by her son, Gary Barrett and his wife Cindy, her daughter Cindy and Dave, along with grandson Nick, and many, many nieces and nephews. Mary has two very dear surviving sisters Delores Perez and Bernice Bertapelle.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support from family and friends and a very special thank you to Butte Hospice.

Donations can be made to Princeton High School FFA, P.O. Box 8, Princeton, CA 95970.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10th from 5:00- 8:00 pm, with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m, at McNary-Moore Chapel, 107 5th St. Colusa.
