LeRoy or “Hal” had lived in Maxwell, California for the past 29 years. Before that he had lived in Sacramento from 1965 to 1997, where he worked for and retired from Pacific Bell Telephone Co. He had come to California from South Dakota with his parents and brother as a child. LeRoy’s family settled in Willows. There he attended Willows High School where he met his future wife, Alice Marie Lausten. Soon after their marriage in 1941, LeRoy enlisted in the air force. He became a radio operator and waist gunner on a B-17 bomber. Reunited, LeRoy and Alice shared 64 happy years of marriage. They were blessed with a son, Clay Worman, in 1959.
LeRoy enjoyed family and friends. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, cards, and dancing. LeRoy and Alice where always available for cards, bingo, or any sort of outing. They loved being with us all and we will miss them.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Clay and Danalynn; and their children, Levi, Kelsey, and Tessafay of Auburn, California.
Nieces and Nephews: Cathy and William Dabner of Petaluma, CA; Donald and Beverly Mullis of Bartlett, TN; Barbara and Jessie Fragoso of Castro Valley, CA; Lonnie Lausten of Walnut Creek, CA; Merle and Cheryl Landrus of Yuba City, CA; and Millie and Greg Jenkins of Redding, CA.
A celebration of LeRoy’s life is scheduled for 1:00pm, March 12th, at the Maxwell Inn, 81 Oak Street, Maxwell, CA.
