Barrett obit photoMary Helen Barrett, 87, of Princeton passed away in her home February 24th after a courageous and challenging battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Mary was born in Princeton on October 25, 1928, Princeton to Mary and Joaquin Perry. Mary graduated from Princeton High School and married her high school sweetheart Manuel Barrett. She worked several years for Colusa First Savings in Colusa and the Colusa County Library in Princeton.

Mary enjoyed gardening, horseback riding and spending time with family and friends. Mary was a great cook and everyone enjoyed her meals and goodies. Mary loved to travel, especially to the ocean side.

Mary was a loving mother, sister, friend and leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Manuel. She is also survived by her son, Gary Barrett and his wife Cindy, her daughter Cindy and Dave, along with grandson Nick, and many, many nieces and nephews. Mary has two very dear surviving sisters Delores Perez and Bernice Bertapelle.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support from family and friends and a very special thank you to Butte Hospice.

A visitation will be held on Thursday March 10th from 5:00- 8:00 pm, with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m, at McNary-Moore Chapel, 107 5th St. Colusa.

Mary’s funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Friday March 11th at 10am.

Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
