Veterans Day Ceremony

At 1 PM, Colusa VFW Post No. 2441 and Maxwell American Legion Post No. 218 will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, 10th and Market Streets in Colusa.

During the ceremony, new tribute bricks will be honored along with existing tribute bricks of the counties honorable service men and women currently placed.

The Veterans Wall was constructed in 2014 with the hopes to honor all Colusa County Veterans.

“We have over 1,200 veterans in Colusa County, and we have a long way before we have everyone honored on the wall,” said Colusa County VFW Member Dennis Sanders.

Sanders commented that 832 bricks will have been placed on the Wall come Veterans Day.

A Tribute Brick is available to all veterans, living or deceased, who have served honorably or are currently serving in any branch of the military at any time. The Veteran must have lived in, or currently living in Colusa County. The cost of a Tribute Brick is $100.

Proceeds from the brick sales will go towards the construction and the future maintenance of the Memorial and Tribute Walls.

To obtain a Tribute Brick application contact Dennis Sanders at (530) 913-5017 or call Chaz Franklin at (530) 635-0746.
