Williams Church planning community Thanksgiving dinner

As the holidays quickly approach, a local church looks to continue a long-held tradition in our community of offering a Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings for those that find themselves with a tight budget or with no one to spend the day.

Marking their first year in providing the community with this dinner event, Williams Community Church is continuing the tradition in conjunction with Granzella’s Restaurant & Deli. Along with the help of Granzella’s, the community church is pulling out all the stops, to offer a great and wholesome meal.

The Community Thanksgiving meal will be held from 2 PM to 4 PM on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23, in the church fellowship hall, located at 315 9th Street in Williams, at the cross streets of 9th and C Streets.

“As our church sought ways to bring our neighbors together to celebrate a day of thanks, we were presented with an opportunity to carry on the tradition of providing a community Thanksgiving dinner and saw this as a great way to serve our community in this holiday season,” church organizers said.

Church members will be serving dinner with all the classic holiday sides, provided with generous donations from Granzella’s.

There is no cost to attend, no fancy dress code.

This free event is open to all who may not have a place to go for the holiday.
