Home Obituaries Jo Ann Meddock Carman (1947-2017)

Jo Ann Meddock Carman (1947-2017)

Jo Ann Meddock Carman passed on to her permanent home with the Lord on Sunday March 12th at her daughter Georgene’s home in Folsom, where she resided during her last 5 months of life. During her last days, she was visited and loved by her sister, her daughters, and grandchildren, as well as many friends. Jo Ann grew up on a small farm in Sutter and moved to Colusa County in 1973. Her greatest love outside her family was for her church and for wild and domestic animals. She was a proud member of The First Presbyterian Church of Colusa, where she served as a Deacon for several years. She was also the founder of Colusa County Wildlife Rescue, where she cared for sick and injured wildlife for over 30 years. Later in life, even more of her love for humanity shined through as she fostered and cared for domestic animals as well as volunteered at the Colusa County Animal Shelter. She is survived in life by her daughters Georgene Hicks and Melissa Daniels; her sister Margo LaPointe; as well as 7 grandchildren Damian, Johnathan, Kyla, Jasmine, Gianni, Nathan, & Hailey; and one great grandchild, Kahlia, who was the pride and joy during the last 2 years of her life. She was loved and respected by many and will be dearly missed.

Due to her unselfish nature she asked that we don’t have a funeral service, however, after her cremation takes place, we will be planning a celebration of life through The First Presbyterian Church, which will be communicated at a later date.
