Rollover in Colusa leads to DUI arrest

An alleged drunk driver rolled his car in the City of Colusa on Thursday night – just two blocks from the Colusa Police Department and a half a block from his residence – and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Officers were dispatched to the area of 7th Street and Oak Street in Colusa at around 9 PM on Thursday night for a report of a vehicle rollover. When officers arrived on scene, they contacted Colusa resident Jonathan Eduardo Martinez Lomeli, 27, and determined that he was intoxicated, the department said in a statement.

“Basically, he was driving and for an unknown reason drifted from the roadway and struck a vehicle, which caused him to flip over,” said Sgt. Eldon Tamez. “There was a lady who had some surveillance video from her house, and it didn’t appear he was traveling well above the posted speed limit.”

Lomeli was booked into the Colusa County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was set at $2,000.■
