County Club blowing the roof off as fundraiser for repairs

The Colusa Golf and Country Club will be rocking out this coming Saturday night in an effort to raise money to replace the roof.

The Country Club, located at 2224 Highway 20, will host its first “Raise the Roof: Rock n’ Roll Extravaganza,” from 7-11 PM on Feb. 24. Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple, and you must be 21 or older to attend.

Jamie Myers, who is organizing the fundraiser, said the Club will stream concerts from the 1970s and 1980s on a screen so big it covers the entire wall. The four-hour, music-filled evening will include the performances of Journey, Lynard Skynard, Eagles, Kiss, Rod Stewart, Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Brothers and many others from the classic rock era.

“It will take you back to a simpler time when life was all about Rock n’ Roll,” Myers said. “The night will get you movin’ and grovin’ to the beat of these memorable eras.”

If you haven’t purchased your tickets for Saturday’s extravaganza, there is still time, and tickets may be available at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Colusa Country Club or Messick Ace Hardware, 729 Market St., Colusa.

Myers said all proceeds from the extravaganza will go into the roof restoration fund to replace the existing roof. Snacks will be provided, along with a no-host bar.

“It should be a night to remember, which you don’t want to miss,” she said.
