LEGO workshop to be held April 28



The Colusa County 4H will host its next LEGO workshop featuring Jedi Engineering and Bash’em Bots. 

The Force Awakens in an introductory engineering workshop for young Jedi! Ages 5-8 will explore  engineering principles by building their own Star Wars ship or vehicle and then taking it for a test flight on a Zip Line. All required materials and Jedi knowledge will be provided.  No prior  experience with LEGO or Star Wars is needed to participate in the engineering instructor-lead workshop.

Ages 9-14 will battle it out with Bash’em Bots! Has your child ever wanted to learn how to make an amazing motorized machine from LEGO parts?  The instructor will guide participants in an advanced engineering workshop. Participants will re-engineer standard vehicles into mechanized machines that can traverse challenging obstacles, battle against fellow bots, or take on the instructors own LEGO Bash’em Bot creation.

The workshop be held Saturday, April 28, with children aged 5-8 starting at 10AM to Noon and children aged 9-14 from 1-3 PM. Class size is limited, and sign ups are due April 18. Each class is $20 per child. Payment can be dropped off at the UCCE Office at 100 Sunrise Boulevard, Suite E or mailed to PO Box 180, Colusa, CA  95932. Want to showcase your LEGO creation, or enter your LEGO workshop creation in the County Fair? A LEGO workshop will be held prior to fair entry due dates; bring your LEGO bricks and build! Additional workshops will be held 1-4 PM on Saturday, May 12,  and 9-4 PM on Saturday, May 26. Notify the Colusa County 4H Office prior to attending a workshop or build day. To enter your creations into the Colusa County Fair, entry forms must be completed no later than 4 PM on May 3; if you are submitting your application online, entries must be submitted no later than Midnight on Thursday, May 10, visit for more information. ■
