State recognizes Stony Creek Horsemen


Sen. Jim Nielsen and Assemblyman James Gallagher sponsored Joint Members Resolution No. 291, to recognize and commend the Stony Creek Horsemen’s Association for their dedication in producing the Stonyford Rodeo for the past 75 years.

Nielsen, R-Gerber, and Gallagher, R-Yuba City, represent Stonyford in their respective districts of the California Legislature.

Nielsen presented the framed resolution to Stony Creek Horsemen’s Association President Zoe Brandenberger and Vice President Sandra Corbin durning the Stonyford Rodeo on Saturday, May 6.

The Resolution recounts a brief history of the Stony Creek Horsemen’s Association and their rodeos and parades of the past 75 years. Its conclusion states, “That they [Nielsen and Gallagher] congratulate the Stonyford Rodeo on its 75 anniversary, commend the generations of Stony Creek Horsemen’s Association volunteers who have brought this annual community-centered event to fruition, and extend their best wishes for the Rodeo’s success in the future.”■
