Color Run raises money for senior trip

Williams students participating in the senior class fundraiser on Sept. 29, show off their colors after being doused with powder.

About 30 students ran through a gauntlet of assorted colored powder on Saturday to support the Class of 2019.

The Sept. 29 Color Run was a fundraiser for the senior class trip.

“We hope to go to Disneyland,” said Diego Jauregui. “We have to do a lot of fundraisers for that.”

Each year the senior class hosts the event as one of their fundraisers, and senior advisor Michelle Hall and her dog Rain never miss a chance to get their color on.

“Rain always comes out looking like a rainbow,” Hale said.

The Color Run on Saturday was just one of several events the senior class will have this year to raise money. The class will also host concessions at basketball games and hopefully soccer, they said.

The senior trip will be the last big adventure the Class of 2019 will have to memorialize their graduation and put all their hard work behind them.

The group raised about $300 on Saturday. Before June, they will need to raise at least $12,000 to cover travel expenses, hotel accommodations, and Disneyland admission for the entire class of about 80 seniors, Jauregui said.
