Jody traveled extensively, and lived in many states having various interesting jobs along the way. For 13 years she taught school in Arbuckle and her husband taught as well in nearby communities. It was Arbuckle that became her final home where she made dear lifetime friends. Her talents were many; she was an accomplished musician, singer, actor, artist, and card shark. She conducted the Colusa County Community Christmas Choir for the past 15 years, until she could no longer walk and had to give up these past two seasons. Jody also conducted the Arbuckle United Methodist Church Choir and played piano there for 15 or more years.
She is survived by her sister Phyllis Rhodes of Anchorage, Alaska; and her “adopted” children Gloria Broomham of Sun City, Arizona, Anna Moffit of Port Ludlow, Washington, and Michael Kusick of Medford, Oregon.
A memorial service celebrating the life and escapades of Jody will be held at the Arbuckle UMC, 9th & Pendleton, on January 27, 2018, at 10 AM, with a luncheon to follow.
Memorial donations may be made in Jody’s name to the Arbuckle UMC, P.O. Box 5, Arbuckle, CA 95912. ■
