HOUSING ELEMENT UPDATE OF THE GENERAL PLAN STAKEHOLDERS MEETING
Colusa County is updating the Housing Element of the County General Plan and needs your help in identifying housing issues facing the unincorporated County, as well as needs of special populations. Colusa County is holding a Stakeholder’s Meeting on Friday, February 22, 2019, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Colusa Industrial Properties Conference Room, 100 Sunrise Blvd., Colusa, CA.
The Housing Element is the main document that establishes the County’s housing policies and is intended to ensure that decent, safe, affordable shelter is provided for all residents in the unincorporated county. The Housing Element Update is an opportunity for all County residents, businesses and organizations to be involved in determining the types of housing needed in the unincorporated County, the best locations for housing, and the best ways to improve housing programs and policies to provide more affordable accessible and safe housing for all residents.
In addition to addressing housing needs for all economic segments of the population, the Housing Element provides analysis and specific policies to address housing needs for special needs groups, which include: seniors, farmworkers, persons with disabilities, including developmental disabilities, homeless, single parents, and large families.
