Arbuckle Public Utility District – Increase For Water Service

The Arbuckle Public Utility District is requesting a rate increase for water services starting January 2020. Residential monthly rate for ¾” or 1” flat rate customers will have a $2.00 rate increase. All other water services will increase 10% over the present rate.

Why a rate increase is needed: our water mains in town are over 50 years old, along with our wastewater plant. To qualify for low interest funding and grants, if any are available, we need to charge a 1.2% of the average income of our customers. To qualify for assistance, our rates would need to be $96 per month ($48.00 for water and $48.00 for wastewater). A small rate increase every year we feel is the best way to qualify for funding.
