It’s a birthday party, and you’re invited… if your birthday is on or before July 21, 1939.
The Sacramento Valley Museum is honoring octogenarians and older with a birthday party on Sunday, July 21 from 1 PM to 4 PM at 1491 E St. in Williams. The festivities will be set up on the first floor of the museum although the second floor will be open for attendees who want to enjoy the artifacts of the former schoolhouse.
Honored guests are welcome to bring a plus one. Salad, tea, and, of course, cake will be served at the party.
The main idea for the party is welcoming people to embrace the history that is enshrined in the building.
Trustee Caroline Vann is hopeful for some Williams High Alumni to return to the building.
“Some people haven’t been back for a long time,” Vann stated.
The birthday celebration is open to the public, even those from neighboring counties. Museum photos in need of identification will be on display in hopes that their story could be told. ■
