A 66-year-old woman died Thursday after being ejected from her 2007 Toyota Tacoma pickup which traveled off the roadway on Interstate 20 near Walnut Drive in Williams.
The CHP had not identified the driver at the time of press.
Officer Franco Castillo, with the CHP, said, “The driver was not wearing her seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
The CHP reminds the public the importance of wearing a seatbelt.
“Seat belts save lives and prevent injuries,” said Castillo. “Do not put your own life at risk, or the life of your family or friends.”
According to research, you can increase your chances of surviving a serious collision by 50 percent when wearing a seat belt. Buckle up. ■
