Two killed in Thursday Highway 20 crash

Two men were killed and three other people injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday on State Route 20, near State Route 16, in Colusa County.

The California Highway Patrol said the two men were from Concord.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the 61-year-old driver of a 2012 Toyota Prius entered onto State Highway 20 from State Highway 16 and collided with a tractor/trailer driven by Walter Loscutoff, 36, of Plumas Lake.

“Luscutoff was unable to avoid a collision, and the front of his vehicle broadsided the Toyota,” the CHP said. “The tractor/trailer then veered into the opposing lane which was occupied by a 2000 Ford Ranger, driven by Anthony Voyles, 57, of Pismo Beach. Voyles swerved off the roadway to the north to avoid a head-on collision and collided with a ditch.”

The driver and front passenger, age unknown, in the Toyota were killed as a result of the collision.

The third occupant of the Toyota sustained significant injuries and was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial.

All occupants in all vehicles were wearing seat belts, the CHP said.

All traffic lanes of State Route 20 were closed until about 4:45 PM.

The collision is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. ■
