The 2019 Pierce homecoming parade’s theme was “Pierce Hits the Road,” and students hit 5th Street in Arbuckle to be precise.

A tradition for over 50 years, youths in blue and yellow chanted and waved to the locals lined along sidewalks. The freshman’s float theme was Nashville; the sophomores created a float of Paris; the junior float went Hollywood; and the senior float featured scenes from Las Vegas.

The homecoming court along with clubs and organizations rode in one of many modes of transportation: a classic car, firetruck, golf cart, bicycle, police car, horse, or just heel-toe marching.

The final destination of the “road trip” was Pierce High School where the Friday night lights beckoned for a home game, where the 2019 Homecoming crowned Halle Charter as Queen along with her court, and princesses Selene Acevez, Noemi Martinez, and Cristal Medina.
Ellen (Charter) Voorhees was grand marshal for her many contributions and volunteerism in the community. ■
