Kenneth Francis Meehan (1924-2018)


Kenneth Francis Meehan was born October 12, 1924, near Niles, Kansas, and passed away December 18, 2018, in Colusa, California at the age of 94.

Kenneth attended West Buckeye school district in Dickinson County, Kansas, and  served in the U.S. Navy on the troop carrier USS General George O. Squier during World War II. After the war, he worked as a mechanic with Denver Chicago Trucking in Salina, Kansas until he married Minnie Colliver in August of 1950. They settled in Maxwell, California where together they started and ran Meehan Trucking for over 30 years. During retirement, Kenneth enjoyed working around the home, dining out and gaming at casinos.

He is survived by one sister, Wilma Ecton, and one brother, Elwin Meehan, both in Solomon Kansas, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Emma (Pattison) Meehan, wife Minnie Meehan, and two sisters, Phyllis and Lucille.

Kenneth will be laid to rest at the Maxwell Cemetery. ■
